5 charged with drug offenses


CARTHAGE — Moore County sheriff’s deputies say they seized nearly $116,000 in drugs, including a kilogram of cocaine, during a two-county raid Monday.

Deputies found the cocaine during a search of an apartment in the 400 block of Lakeshore Drive in Aberdeen, according to a news release. Drug paraphernalia, $59 and 989 grams of marijuana also were found in the home.

Another search on Goat Hill Road near Sanford yielded 1,792 grams of marijuana, the release said.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Aberdeen Police Department assisted in the investigation.

Arrested were:

Oscar Valderama Briseno, 30, of the 400 block of Lakeshore Drive in Aberdeen. He is charged with four counts of trafficking in cocaine, four counts of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine and one count each of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, selling cocaine, delivering cocaine, conspiracy to sell or deliver cocaine, possession of cocaine and maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance. Bail was set at $500,000.

Leonardo Delgado Mares, 29, of the 200 block of Goat Hill Lane in Sanford. He is charged with four counts of trafficking in cocaine, four counts of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine and one count each of conspiracy to deliver cocaine, conspiracy to sell cocaine, selling cocaine, delivering cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance. Bail was set at $500,000.

Dora Nelly Torres, 37, of the 200 block of Goat Hill Lane in Sanford. She is charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine, one count of possession of cocaine, two counts of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine and one count of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine. Bail was set at $100,000.

Jonathan Jose-Arando Briseno, 18, of the 400 block of Lakeshore Drive in Aberdeen. He is charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $50,000.

Jose Miguel-Delgadillo Diaz, 27, of the 400 block of Lakeshore Drive in Aberdeen. He is charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $25,000.
