    U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter (9/28/2011)

    Border Patrol agents seized more than 19,693 pounds of marijuana, 23.2 pounds of cocaine, 42.66 pounds of methamphetamine and 5.6 pounds of heroin. Agents arrested eight criminal aliens and six gang members. There were three rocking incidents.

    *This overview is compiled from incidents reported to U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters and is not intended to reflect all Border Patrol enforcement actions. Most arrests and seizures fail to meet the requirements for mandatory reporting to Headquarters.


    Reported on September 22, 2011


    El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near El Centro, California. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history, including a prior conviction for contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.


    Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Guatemala near San Manuel, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for felony assault and had been previously removed from the United States.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Sureño gang who had been previously removed from the United States.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 312 pounds of marijuana, a loaded .45 caliber handgun, and arrested four United States Citizens (USC) and one national of Mexico near Three Points, Arizona.

    El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 23.2 pounds of cocaine, 4.3 pounds of heroin, a truck, and arrested a USC near Indio, California. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search by agents uncovered the narcotics.


    El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near El Paso, Texas. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Mexicles gang. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.


    Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 5,919 pounds of marijuana, a vehicle, and arrested a USC near Roma, Texas.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 729 pounds of marijuana, two handguns, 70 rounds of ammunition, and arrested four illegal aliens from Mexico near Sells, Arizona.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,604 pounds of marijuana near Kaka, Arizona. Agents discovered the marijuana in an abandoned vehicle stuck in a dry creek bed.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Guatemala near Three Points, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the 18th Street gang. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.

    El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had an active warrant of arrest for double homicide issued in the country of Mexico.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Arizona for 2nd degree murder and had been previously removed from the United States.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureño gang. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of California for burglary and had been previously removed from the United States.

    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 2,432 pounds of marijuana and an abandoned truck near Menengers, Arizona.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near Nogales, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the Commonwealth of Virginia for aggravated sexual battery against a minor under the age of 13, and had been previously removed from the United States.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of California for child molestation and had been previously removed from the United States.



    Reported on September 26, 2011


    El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 42.66 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.32 pounds of heroin, a sport utility vehicle, and arrested a national of Mexico at the traffic checkpoint near Calexico, California. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the vehicle and a subsequent search by agents uncovered the narcotics.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,518 pounds of marijuana and recovered a stolen sport utility vehicle near Gu Vo, Arizona. Agents responded to a report of suspicious activity and discovered the abandoned vehicle containing the marijuana.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized one handgun and one assault rifle near Three Points, Arizona. The weapons were found abandoned in the brush.

    El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureño gang. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.


    Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Abram, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for 2nd degree rape and had been previously removed from the United States.

    Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Guatemala near Brownsville, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the 18th Street gang. Records checks revealed he had been previously removed from the United States.


    Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 3,350 pounds of marijuana and three vehicles on the bank of the Rio Grande River near Penitas, Texas. One of the vehicles had been reported stolen.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,934 pounds of marijuana and a pickup truck near Gu Vo, Arizona. The vehicle containing the marijuana was found abandoned.


    Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,895 pounds of marijuana and recovered a stolen truck near Stanfield, Arizona. The vehicle containing the marijuana was found abandoned.
