McALLEN, March 22 - Border business and political leaders have been very critical of increased wait times at the international bridges but next week they will learn how bad the federal government believes the situation is.

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA) has been conducting a multi-state U.S.-Mexico border study to evaluate the impact wait times have on the economy.

The results of the study will be unveiled by U.S. Department of Commerce Assistant Secretary David Bohigian at briefings and stakeholder discussions in San Diego, Nogales, El Paso, Laredo, and McAllen, next week. Bohigian is calling it his “Border That Works Tour 2008.â€
