News10.net - Oroville Man Deported to Mexico After Living in U.S. Since He Was Seven
OROVILLE, CA - Jose Orozco had lived illegally in the United States since he was seven. He was educated here, paid taxes here, and was raising a family until he tried to file for immigrant status so he could pay taxes with his wife. That's when the U.S. government ordered him to leave the country.
Over the Memorial Day weekend, his family went to visit him for the first time since he was deported. "There's no words to explain it. You have tell your kids that you're going to go see Daddy, but he's not coming home with us. That's all they've known," said his wife, Angela Orozco.
She said the government decided her husband's case did not involve enough hardship to allow him to stay in the United States.
"Who says it's not enough? Who makes that decision?" asked Orozco's step-daughter Janea Barragan. "They want extreme hardship. But whose extreme hardship? Their's or ours?"
Orozco has now been stuck in Mexico for almost a month, with no way to return, even to visit. His wife said she has started to file another appeal with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, but that if worse comes to worse, she and her children may have to relocate to Mexico.

I believe the correct term is "Payback". All those years of not paying your share , and should have file for Legal immigration years ago .

A great ending to this story would be for his family to join him in Mexico. Your home land. Good Bye!

I just posted
I posted this comment:
Although unfortunate, Mr. Orozco was aware of his illegal status when he came here. His parents were OBVIOUSLY aware of it when they came here. They CHOSE to break the law to make a better life for themselves.
In life, we all have such choices to make, and must live with the consequences of those choices.
For example, if a man burglarizes a pharmacy in order to acquire live saving drugs he can't afford for his ill child, should he be excused from prison?
Should we all be allowed to commit crime if it means a better life for ourselves and our families?
If a citizen breaks the law, do we look the other way simply because he/she has a family?
Don't many citizens in prison have families?
The answer to all of the above is no. We all have the right (as U.S. citizens) to pursue a better life, but not at the expense of others or the law. Quite the contrary, our Constitution was written to guarantee personal freedom through enforcement of such laws.
If Mr. Orozco's relatives had followed the law in the first place, he wouldn't be in this situation now. To even consider "looking the other way" in his case would dangerously undermine the very purpose of the Constitution.
