Illegal immigrants arrested

BONDVILLE - On Aug. 30 at approximately 5:40 p.m., the Winhall Police Department received a call from an employee at the Seven Eleven Gas Station on Route 30 in Bondville, for a report of a fake identification card. Winhall Police determined the individual was attempting to buy alcohol using a novelty Massachusetts Identifications card.

Further investigation revealed the individual attempting to purchase the alcohol and four other individuals were suspected of violating a Federal Immigration Law. The United States Border Patrol was contacted and requested the Winhall Police detain the individuals.

It was determined by the United States Border Patrol one of the individuals was subject to deportation from the United States and four others were under investigation to determine if they were subject to removal from the United States.

All five individuals were transported to Marble Valley Correctional Facility and held on an Immigration Detainer from The United States Border Patrol.
