Mexican truckers planning to block border

December 19, 2007 PrintSaveE-mailSize: +/–SPECIAL REPORT: Mtruckers planning to block border exican Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007 – The long list of opponents to the cross-border trucking program isn’t exclusively made up of groups and truckers in the United States. Motor carriers in Mexico are waging their own fight to shut down the program.

In fact, the Mexican National Truck Drivers Federation is planning to block the border between Mexico and the United States in January 2008 if the program doesn’t come to an end. The threat to block the border was reported in the Mexican newspaper El Financiero.

The union of truckers is upset with the Mexican government for allowing U.S. trucks and truckers into their country.

“It is irresponsible of the Mexican Government, of Felipe Calderon, to allow the interests of a powerful 2 percent of people in the Mexican economy to hand Mexican trucking over to the Americans,â€

Well at least these people are taking a stand in their own country. Not crawling into our country and trying to change things

Lets see we have people on both sides against this so why is it still going on? Could it be the elites on both sides are the ones pulling the strings. The same groups that are allowing millions of illegals to stay in the US? mmmmm....Could be. As Bugs might say.

The Mexican trucking sector is rather strong right now with opportunity on there side of the border. It is difficult to engage in trucking in the United States if a parent company is not domestically based.

Mexico allows domestic trucking companies to be foreign owned. Mexican complaints about cross border trucking are that successful Mexican trucking companies are seeing less successful or retiring competitors bought by American trucking companies. Most truck drivers driving for subsidiaries of American trucking companies are Mexican.

The complaints on our side against Mexican truckers is that their wages are lower and their safety standards are not as tight. If the US government allows Mexican trucks on our roads to deliver shipments from Mexicoo the drivers might cause accidents and lower wages as their bids for delivery would be lower.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Maybe we won't need a fence with the Mexican trucks blocking the border so nobody can get across. I hope they clog it so bad everything stops.
