On a fence at the U.S.-Mexican border

On a fence at the U.S.-Mexican border

Resistance to fencing on the US southern border is building. Washington must stand firm.

Enforcement of America’s southern border is sizzling with controversy. This week, it was reported that the US will delay building an electronic “virtual fence.â€

They are against real fences because they work-Virtual fence also means that these people make it into the US and then a signal is sent-drug deal can be passed in seconds or diversions can set up the border patrol.Man below me could not keep people from going to the small lake he owns-no tresspassing signs, calling sheriff, etc did not work-He put up the fence and they gave up on going to it-Alot of neighbors including some of his relatives did not like it,but he has right to protect his family and property

Build the damn fence...it's not my fault or the fault of most Americans that the idiots on the border have ventured across and built an infrastructure. The rest of us would like our border secure!

I'm going to try to explain this the best I can so forgive me if I screw it up, keep in mind I live on the border and have seen the fence we have here.
First off it does look like crap, it is made from old WWII metal landinding mats, I know the guy in charge of keeping it up and he says it's a joke.
Holes need to be left open for wildlife and seasonal streams and much of it is a barrier blockade, in many areas it is impossible to place a fence close to the ground due to the terrain. I've also seen pic's of illegals cutting holes in it with a cutting torch.
Each area needs to be evaluated as to what works best and in my opinion manned towers would work very well. An agent could be posted there 24/7 with all the high tech gear reporting to agents on the ground.
A fence is only so good and it still needs people to watch it, any cattle rancher will tell you that.
Simply buiding a fence will not stop anybody, it will divert traffic though, but to put a halt to it you need feet on the ground and eyes to see it.
Even the great wall of China was manned.
