Charlotte immigration court to open Nov. 4
    Charlotte Business Journal

An immigration court will open in Charlotte on Nov. 4, according to the office of U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick.

It will be at 5701 Executive Center Drive, off Albemarle Road.

The U.S Department of Justice determines court locations and allocates funds for them. Such courts adjudicate cases involving detained immigrants as well as those seeking asylum.

An Atlanta court now handles immigration law cases from the Carolinas, Alabama and Georgia.

Hopefully the new court will encourage more local law enforcement (throughout N.C.) to make more illegal alien apprehensions. Furthermore, I'm also hopeful that it will help to prevent the typical catch & release policies that some N.C. cities have.
