Illegal immigration measures debated at Chesterfield board meeting
From NBC12 News
Nov 15, 2007
More than two dozen residents and community leaders spoke on the issue of illegal immigration at the Chesterfield Board of Supervisors meeting yesterday.
The county is currently considering changes to its policies on how to handle illegal immigrants.
One recommendation calls for restrictions on rental properties that limit the number of people living under one roof. Another proposal would crack down on contractors who hire illegal immigrants for work.
"Social services should be services for citizens of Chesterfield - not just anyone," said Margaret Davis, who attended the meeting.
Carlos Ojeda agreed, but stressed clarification.
