Texas gubernatorial candidate Bill White addresses the National Council of La Raza. White says Arizona’s controversial immigration law is misguided. He also spoke about education during his speech.

Bill White tried to create some daylight between himself and Gov. Rick Perry on the hot-button issue of immigration Monday whiley denouncing Arizona's controversial new crackdown on undocumented immigrants.

On Saturday, Perry told members of the National Council of La Raza that the Arizona law would be a poor fit for Texas, even while noting Arizona's frustration with a porous border.

Speaking to the same group Monday, White, Perry's Democratic challenger, inched further, suggesting the law's central tenet — that local and state law-enforcement officials should verify the immigration status of people they detain — is fundamentally misguided.

“It would make our communities in Texas less safe, not more safe, if we took our local police officers and deputy sheriffs off the hard job of combating gangs and crime to do routine immigration work,â€

Bill White is a cop killer. I have nothing nice to say about him.

Bill white was not good for houston or the police force there.
the 4 dead officers are 4 too many to lose their lives to illegal alien scumbags. yet latest polls i hear show the race neck to neck.

More people in texas need to see this story and understand this guy is not good for texas

And we have Rick Perry to blame for the polls. So many people are furious with Rick Perry that they just want to vote against him. I can promise while I feel the same about Rick Perry, Bill White is worse. Unfortunately much of Texas doesn't hasn't experienced this.

It's sickening that we would be forced into choosing the lesser of the two evils, White or Perry.

I just cannot understand the mindset of the idiots who are so concerned about racial profiling in Arizona by law enforcement. If law enforcement already has trouble keeping track of the zillions of sex offenders and other equally revolting criminals in this country...what in the HELL makes the idiots think that they're going to waste their time stopping anyone and everyone who "looks" Hispanic for no reason?
