Clarksville Police investigate second gang rape within week

Illegal alien suspects still at large

Clarksville police are looking for four suspects in the alleged rape of a 24-year-old Clarksville woman early Saturday morning, the second reported gang rape in just more than a week.

Although police say they don’t believe the cases are connected, there are a number of similarities: In both cases, the women left local bars with a group of four Hispanic men, who allegedly gave the women drinks with strange tastes and then two or three of the men took turns raping them at a local apartment, police say.

In the most recent case, according to a police report, the victim and her boyfriend were at Rojo’s Bar near Eastern Boulevard at about 3 a.m. when she went outside with four unknown Hispanic males to smoke marijuana in the suspects’ vehicle, according to the report.

Her boyfriend had gone to buy a drink, and the men allegedly told the victim they would take her home. They instead took her to an apartment building which she believes was on Cambridge Boulevard, according to the report.

There, the men allegedly gave her two mixed drinks which had a chalky texture, she told police. She said the men then began saying vulgar things and tied both her legs around the knees with a tan-colored rope. She said that she later woke up a couple of blocks from her house. She showered and changed clothes, but later took the clothes to be tested for DNA.

The woman claimed that three of the men raped her, while the fourth man had left the building.

The victim described the first suspect as a Hispanic male, approximately 5-foot 4-inches tall and stocky with a shaved head, wearing a white T-shirt. Another suspect was described as a 5-foot 5-inch stocky Hispanic male with buzzed hair, wearing a white T-shirt. A third suspect was described as 5-foot 6-inch stocky Hispanic male with no facial hair and short- to medium-length hair, which was pulled back. The victim said he was wearing a black and gray silk button-up shirt.

Police Chief Dwight Ingle said investigators do not believe this rape is related to an alleged rape of a 47-year-old New Albany woman May 23.

“I’m not familiar with the specifics of either case, but (detectives) don’t believe it to be the same people,â€
