Dozens of students leave Escondido, SM, Mission Hills high schools to help build momentum for "new civil rights movement"

SAN MARCOS ---- A year after thousands of students walked out of class to protest proposed immigration laws, a group of 30 left San Marcos and Escondido high schools Friday and marched to the Civic Center here to build momentum for what they called the "new civil rights movement."

The group of students from Escondido, San Marcos and Mission Hills highs marched in a small huddle around the city and were joined by three organizers from the Los Angeles-based coalition called BAMN, which stands for By All Means Necessary.

The coalition focused on affirmative action, integration and immigrant rights said they are planning on a series of protests in San Diego and Los Angeles area starting next week.

Maybe they should get an education first or they will be doomed to working a leaf blower. There getting bad advise from somebody, they have an equal shot at the American dream now.

Continue to demonstrate and whine instead of taking advantage of

Um, maybe they should build this monument in Mexico where only the drug cartels and the elite seem to have civil rights. Oh wait, its safer to demand civil rights here instead of Mexico, they don't have to worry about being gunned down in the streets.

I wonder if adults could interpret this to mean they can be punished or arrested "by all means necessary".

You are giving them far too much credit, these are not people with common sense, after all they don't consider themselves criminals but acknowledge they are here illegally but refuse to leave.

I heard about this on the radio this morning. A woman called in who saw the students. Said there were a couple groups of about 12 each and they had Mexican flags. Guess they didn't get the word that isn't too popular to some.

Are they going to make are life hell??
Are they going to take over our towns?
Are they going to eradicate our culture?
Are they going to refuse to obey our laws?
Are they going to punish us by destroying our schools, hospitals, etc.??
