In the race for New York Governor, we've heard Republican Carl Paladino calling his Democratic rival Andrew Cuomo part of Albany's dysfunction, and Cuomo framing Paladino as a one-dimensional candidate running on anger alone. But behind the bickering looms an issue that has the potential to define this year's race -- immigration.

Cuomo spoke about the issue at the state Democratic convention in May. “We are New York. We are the laboratory for the American experiment of democracy. The Statue of Liberty stands in our harbor," he said. "We are the welcome mat for the nation. We are founded on the premise that we can say to the people all across this globe: Come here, we invite you.â€

If Paladino taps the 70 to 80% of New Yorkers that fought against giving DL's to IAs when Spitzer was Gov. he will WIN!

I'm pretty sure Gilly is going to lose and I also believe Shmuck Shumer is in danger and the MSM isn't admitting it.

Was Paladino accused of receiving then forwarding racists emails or is it someone else in NY ?

Yes, even though undocumented immigrants obviously don't vote.

Paladino admits it. I'd wager more than 90% of active pc users have done it too though.

As far as Schmuck goes he's relatively safe if those who opposed DL's for IAs don't come out in droves. I'm thinking WE WILL!

I asked about the Paladino charges because they talked about it yesterday on the view and I never trust what they say.

I agree Tea Party Candidates are being smeared all across the country. We do not hear much about the radical Dems and their statements/actions which are vicious sometimes.
