Wilkes offers training to teach English as 2nd language

WILKES-BARRE – Wilkes University is speaking the global language.



Applications are now being accepted for the university’s new 30-credit master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language that will start in the spring.

One of every nine people in the United States is foreign-born, notes Gina Morrison, associate professor of education at Wilkes and coordinator of the Teaching ESL program. And, Morrison said, with English the language of international business, demand for English teachers is growing worldwide, both in school and business settings.
