Two undocumented immigrants were sent to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Alice, and four others were detained by Jim Wells County sheriff's deputies following a rollover accident at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1930 and FM 1352 Monday morning.

An unknown number of passengers was ejected from the back of the pickup truck and fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, officials said.

The pickup truck was headed south on FM 1352 at a high rate of speed and attempted to turn east on FM 1930 when the accident occurred, officials said.

The driver of the vehicle, who fled soon after the accident, lost control of the Chevrolet Z71 while attempting a turn and rolled the pickup over once, Sheriff's Deputy Lt. Joe Martinez said.

Two of the immigrants suffered minor injuries and the other four were held until Border Patrol arrived. Martinez said the four who were turned over to Border Patrol said they were from Mexico.
