An illegal immigrant and his roommate were charged Friday with a combined six felonies for allegedly selling large amounts of cocaine and marijuana from a Sheboygan apartment.

Juan Ocampo-Sotelo, 49, of 1420-A New Jersey Ave., could face up to 40½ years in prison on two counts of cocaine delivery and one count each of marijuana delivery and theft. His alleged accomplice, Lucia Avila-Gonzalez, 38, of the same address, could face up to 32½ years behind bars on two counts of cocaine delivery.

An investigation that began in mid-January ended Wednesday when about 15 officers from several agencies raided the New Jersey Avenue apartment and seized $10,000 worth of cocaine and $5,000 worth of marijuana, according to a criminal complaint. Police also confiscated $2,100 in cash, three cars and two handguns, one of which was stolen during a burglary in May 2008.

The cocaine found totaled nine ounces, and the marijuana weighed about five pounds, the complaint said.

Court records allege Ocampo-Sotelo delivered more than two pounds of marijuana on March 5 and delivered cocaine on both Feb. 19 and 23, the later date handing over more than an ounce. Avila-Gonzalez is charged as a party to the crime in both February transactions.
