I'll take the "flawed" system that catches more than it makes mistakes any day. These people need to clam up because their petty whining just isn't going to fly well when we are going through all this right now. There's a whole heck of alot of things going on that are effecting American citizens of all races to listen to that bunch whining about the "hispanic community" and all their illegals.

Anybody that had a mistake in the number surely got it cleared up when they got their "free" stimulus money right??? Don't give me this garbage about citizens losing their jobs...good grief. It's a simple thing to clear up if you are legal and just how long can anyone go before they run into a problem with their SSN. For instance, applying for credit or opening a bank account. It's not like they have been working for years and all of a sudden they get hit with a mistake in their number. Don't they file taxes?? People getting married and forgetting to change the name is probably the most common.

Exactly. They are so worried about getting caught for themselves, they forget the mess they make with other peoples lives with identity theft. But hey, who cares about them?

An economic analysis commissioned by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and authored by Richard B. Belzer, who holds a Ph.D. in public policy from Harvard University , found that more than 165,000 lawful U.S. workers could lose their jobs because of their inability to resolve discrepancies with the SSA

And did this highly biased report mention how many Americans lost their jobs to illegal immigrants.

I'm sure if a true US citizen got flagged erroniously they would be able to easily come up with several refernces to vouch for them. And it isn't difficult to obtain the proper documents if you are legally here.

How can we put a petition together telling LULAC we don't want their "assistance", that we are adults and can take care of any SSN mismatch, thus we support the proposed Bush rules.

That's what I was thinking. LULAC thinks that it would cause legals and illegals to get laid off. Does anyone that is legal have several aliases to get around the system? If they do, then they are 1. a criminal trying to get away with something, or 2. there is a simple mistake that can be clearly proven once documents are obtained, just like Captainron suggests above. So it looks to me to be a win, win. We get rid of illegals, and if there is a mismatch from a legal citizen skirting the law, then they will be taken off the street as well. Thanks LULAC!!
