Democrats saying little about illegal immigrants

WASHINGTON — Democratic presidential candidates are likely to sound similar tonight at their Las Vegas debate when they discuss illegal immigration — if they talk much about it at all.

They all pretty much call for tougher border enforcement and providing a path to citizenship, but they’ve been downplaying the issue for months, even though it’s one of the hottest controversies in the land.

Democratic analysts say that’s a smart strategy. Republicans counter that Democrats are afraid of the issue, which could split the party’s liberal wing and Hispanics from its blue-collar supporters.

Independent analysts aren’t sure who’s right.

“People are torn. They know they need immigrants [to make the economy hum], but many also fear the browning of America,â€

Republican strategists say that the Democratic contenders underestimate the anger and frustration on Main Street over illegal immigration. They may be right. When people think about immigration, most now want an iron fist, not talking points.

Amen to that!

I read an article where a farmer in Mexico had applied for entry into the US for himself and his sons and was still waiting. He was angry that the illegals were getting rewarded for sneaking in while his sons had to wait. I'd be angry too!

There have always been illegal aliens coming in smaller numbers for decades, HOWEVER; those illegals did not march in our streets demanding we change OUR laws to suit them, those illegals didn't demand welfare, housing assistance, WIC, free education and medical care. In addition, those illegals earned enough money to support their families.

Today's illegals (not all) cannot earn enough money to support themselves, but they keep churning out them babies with NO way to support them! They demand that WE, the taxpayers, support them. THAT is why we are beyond pissed off!

Feel we're not hospitable enough? Then I invite all illegal aliens to GET THE H*LL OUT!
