U.S. Spends more $$ on Illegals Than on Homeless Vets
U.S. Spends Hundred Times More on Illegal Aliens Than on Assisting American Homeless Veterans
Falls Church, VA 22046 November 18 2005
Vets' Leader Demands Vast Change in Spending Priorities
America is spending hundreds of times more money on benefits for illegal aliens than it is helping homeless veterans, charged a national veterans' leader.
U. S. taxpayers are footing a bill of over $70 Billion annually in benefits for illegal aliens, in education, health care, housing and prison costs, charged MAJ Brian A. Hampton USAR (ret), President of the Circle of Friends for American Veterans. Meanwhile, Hampton said the federal government is investing less than 1% of that amount helping 300,000 homeless veterans on our streets tonight.
Hampton was speaking on a syndicated radio network, originated through 1600 Talk Radio in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Talk show host Brian Farrier said he was shocked and appalled by the misplaced spending priorities. His listeners jammed the station with calls and e-mails, voicing their outrage.
"We are a land of immigrants and we want to help everybody," said Hampton, "but our government needs to totally change funding priorities and start with the core first, homeless veterans, veterans, the active duty and American Citizens and then work our way out."
Hampton equated illegal aliens to those who may sneak into Disneyland and then demand free food and rides. "We have the heart," he said, "but we do not have a money machine."

This is an outrage!!
This is shameful!!
How can our government be so out of touch with our own citizens?
It makes me wonder about the underlying motive of our president and our Senators!! It seems they are doing just about everything possible to ruin this country!!!"Send them Back." "Build a damn wall and be done with it."

It is disgusting how this government treats it's vets. Makes me want to puke to hear them go on and on about our brave men and women and they're the first to turn their backs on them.

I sent this to every news station and television station that I had an email for with this note:
in honor of our veterans today, please advise the people of this fact -- our veterans deserve more respect and help from the government they honorably served

U.S. spends more on illegals .....
So very true.
On C-Span this morning, Washington Journal, their phone lines were opened to Veterans of WW II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm .....
Many veterans who have had contact with the VA, expressed some of the nightmares they have experienced with the VA. They already have wounds that will never heal emotinally in some cases. Then when their physical bodies do reach out for some help, not all veterans do ask right away, the VA may not even know them. Another lost his DD214, so the "VA couldn't do anything for him." Yet, they had his date of entry, where he served, how long he served, and when he was discharged. BUT, they "couldn't do anything for him because he lost that DD214 form." Fact of that matter is, they could if they took the time to look for it.
Our Veterans are definitely not one of the "priorities" for our government and its lawmakers. Supposedly the Senate has "entertained" issues for lengthy periods of time, and getting no where fast by just kicking the issue of Veteran's care around the floor.
Later in this program, if I heard a speaker from the Disabled American Veterans correctly, the government gives them little if anything. Most of their funds are through "donations" made by us, the taxpayers.
It must be acknowledged, that there are some who receive much. Some who receive little. Others, who receive absolutely nothing! Fraud does exist in some cases.
Many roadblocks are thrown up before our veterans. Another bureaucratic (sp?) mess.
How this government can justify itself, for the way it has treated our veterans for the most part, is beyond me.
Perhaps those who are still able to vote and have addresses (which I'm sure are not all ivory towers) may be thrown a bone, and our homeless veterans have no such address and cannot vote, are just considered a piece of trash to the mighty non-warriors of this country?
Thus, is it the "politicians" desire for a "vote" to keep their sorry excuses for existence, what motivates their moves?
I ask this, as illegals may be the vote of their futures? I've heard that expressed in other conversations.
Oh, and we have veterans who were wounded in non-named wars, so to speak. The many skirmishes where we've gone to "help others" etc. They are not to be forgotten either!

Senator Jeff Sessions got legislation passed that would raise the death 'gratuity' from $12,000 to $100,000 -- ever since then I've liked him
citizens are living without housing because of Hurricane Katrina, the elderly have to choose between medicine and food, the veterans are sleeping on the street and our government is only concerned about illegals and Mexico's economy ..."Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it" George Santayana "Deo Vindice"

Vets and anybody who knows a veteran, take your DD-214 and make a hundred copies of it. Spread them around. Of course, keep them safe since it has your soc. sec. number etc. on it.
And, register a copy with your county clerk. They are supposed to safeguard it for retrieval later if you need it.
Move to a new place? Go to the county clerk in your new area and register that DD-214.

Yet the government will be willing to take the word of an illegal without documents as to how long he/she has been residing in our country in order to obtain citizenship or how much he/she paid into FICA in order to draw social security benefits. Makes me sick!!!!!"Send them Back." "Build a damn wall and be done with it."
