The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says it has the proper training and procedures in place to ensure that its deputies are not racially profiling.

But a review of arrest records by The Arizona Republic shows that most people arrested during crime sweeps by the sheriff's office were Latinos.

The records show the sweeps frequently targeted heavily Latino areas or day-labor corridors, and most of those arrested during highly discretionary stops for reasons such as cracked windshields were Latinos.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio has vehemently denied that deputies were profiling. While he has trumpeted the arrests of undocumented immigrants during the sweeps, he also has argued that the main purpose was to suppress crime, not go after immigrants.

I said it before and I'll say it again:

The discrimination and racial profiling arguments are an illustration of the utter nonsense of reverse logic. Hispanics are not being targeted because of their race; rather it is because most illegal immigrant offenders are Hispanic that they find themselves caught in the cross-hairs. Perhaps those Hispanics who are legal residents/citizens would be wise to speak up against those who tarnish the Hispanic reputation with their unlawful actions. Regardless, we will not allow the waters to be muddied on this.

It is the same in South Florida. If you take a look at the 10 most wanted by the Broward County Sheriff's Office most are Hispanics. I wish that there would be a designation for them as either hispanic white or hispanic black. In fact they want it. When they go to the police station to be fingerprinted for jobs and they fill out the form they print an H for hispanic in the race question as it is not on the form or they will ask what to put down. If these crime stats were published with them as a race it would be a real eye opener for many people. Just watching the History Channel's documentary Gangland makes you see how many gangs they have and how violent they are. In fact many were started by children of illegals who were picked on in school. It just makes me sick.

I had a discussion about this Sat nite while watching AMW. I have been watching that show nearly every week since it started in 1988...in 20 years I saw the demographics of crime change.

Used to be mostly whites with some blacks, then it started to be more black than white for a while, now it is about 2/3 hispanics. Maybe it is what they CHOOSE to profile on thier show, but I kinda doubt it. Crime is crime and with more and more of them coming here, it stands to reason that there will be more crimes commited by them.

Check out the DEA's fugitives. It goes by state disvisions and it will surprise you. Every divisions fugutives are predominantly hisapnics. Take a look for yourself.
