Juárez police turmoil: Juárez city officials said Wednesday evening that they have developed contingency plans after rumors that some municipal police officers plan to go on a "labor stoppage" in protest of the Mexican army and federal police in the city.
City officials said that the rumor holds that officers at two of six police districts plan to take part in the stoppage to protest treatment by federal forces, who arrived last week to fight organized crime. Police officers, wearing masks, and their family members have been protesting in the past two days.

Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz said that plans have been made to make up for any stoppage and that residents should welcome the opportunity to eliminate bad officers.
