Man Charged In Farm Prostitution Scheme

Man Charged In Farm Prostitution Scheme

    Thursday, 06/30/11 6:06am

    BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP)

Federal prosecutors say they've charged a man with conspiring to bring New York prostitutes to Vermont farmworkers.

Fifty-three-year-old Alejandro Enrique Young-Hernandez, of Hyde Park, appeared in federal court in Burlington yesterday after being charged with conspiracy.

Prosecutors argue that he worked with 53-year-old Jose Tomas Flores-Rocha, who would transport women to the farms for encounters.

Flores-Rocha is an illegal immigrant who was arrested in March. He has since pleaded guilty to transporting a Mexican woman to Vermont for the purpose of prostitution. He's awaiting sentencing.

If convicted, Young-Hernandez could get 10 years in prison.

If we simply enforced our immigration laws this would have never happened. The resouces being spent to prosecute these crimes that should have never occured in the first place is no doubt contributing to the economic crisis many states find themselves in.
