Border Patrol continues catching previously convicted, previously deported sex offenders who illegally entered the US

Authorities working along America's southern border continue to capture previously convicted, previously deported sex offenders who have unlawfully entered the U.S.
A recent U.S. Customs and Border Protection press release details the apprehension of three convicted sex offenders in three recent, but separate, incidents. All three individuals were Mexican nationals who had previously been removed from the U.S. Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents caught each of the individuals after they had illegally entered the U.S.
"March 29, while conducting line watch operations, Eagle Pass Station agents encountered a group of five people attempting to avoid detection near Eagle Pass," CBP noted. "Record checks revealed that Ariel Hugo Fuentes Morales, 34, a Mexican national, was convicted of indecency with a child sexual contact, in San Antonio, in 2011. Fuentes Morales was sentenced to 10 years confinement and was most recently deported in 2015."
After Brackettville Station agents caught two individuals on April 2, records checks indicated that one individual had been "convicted of criminal sexual conduct of a minor, under the age of 11, in Lexington, South Carolina, in 2022," according to CBP. "He was sentenced to one year confinement and was most recently deported in 2022."
Carrizo Springs Station agents nabbed a person on April 3, and records checks indicated that the individual had been "convicted of sexual abuse and sexual assault, in Arizona, in 2022," "sentenced to one year and six months confinement and placed on lifetime probation," and "most recently deported in 2022," according to CBP.
Authorities also recently caught a gang member who had previously been convicted of manslaughter.
"At approximately 3 a.m., Del Rio Station agents encountered five people attempting to avoid detection, determined they were illegally present in the United States and transported them to a processing center.
Record checks revealed that Juan Ramon Borja-Vargas, a 38-year-old Mexican national and Sur-13 gang member, was convicted of manslaughter, in Sacramento, California, in 2006. Borja-Vargas was sentenced to 16 years confinement and was most recently deported in 2019," CBP noted in another press release.
According to CBP, there have been more than one million southwest land border encounters during the five-month period spanning from October 2022 to February 2023.
