PD: Robber pulls knife on day laborer in Mesa, takes cash
Mesa police say that two separate attacks on Monday, in which victims were robbed at knifepoint, could be related.

In both cases, the victims were reportedly persuaded to enter the attacker’s vehicle with promises of work, according to a Mesa police report.

Once inside the vehicle, the victims were allegedly threatened with a sharp object and the assailant demanded money.

According to the report, both assaults occurred in Mesa and the vehicle used was a red Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck.

However, accounts of the incidents vary slightly.

Police said one account reports the attackers as being light-skinned Hispanics using a 3- inch blade.

The other reportedly names the attackers as caucasians using a box cutter.
