    Illegal immigrants plea in check scam case

    Four illegal immigrants charged in a check cashing scheme, that duped two Pee Dee businesses out of thousands of dollars, pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday.

    In October, they hit grocery stores in Marion and Johnsonville with more than $10,000 in bogus checks.

    Police recovered about half of the cash.

    The four who pleaded guilty will be sentenced at a later date.


    There's no indication if the other suspects will plead.

    How did the reporter know the four were illegal aliens?

    How did WPDE Channel 15 see its way clear to report that fact?
