One person is in custody after two people were shot in the New Hampshire town of Pittsburg, authorities say.

New Hampshire State Police say one suspect is in custody following the shootings, which occurred around 11 a.m. and left one person dead and two others wounded.

A nearby kindergarten through grade 12 school was locked down after the 11 a.m. shooting and voting at the school as suspended for roughly two hours.

Sheli Aldridge, a spokeswoman for the Pittsburg School District, told FoxNews.com that all 127 students and 34 staff members were safe as of 1:15 p.m. The school remains in lockdown, she said, but a polling station in the school's cafeteria has been reopened.

"The voters are allowed to come in and vote, and then leave," she said. "Everybody's safe."
