Washington, DC – Late yesterday Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa) sent a letter to Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao and other federal officials requesting information on the status of a ongoing Department of Labor investigation into Agriprocessor’s Postville, Iowa, facility.
According to media reports, the Department of Labor was conducting an investigation—independent of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s investigation—into possible labor law violations, including illegal child labor, at the Agriprocessors plant.
