IL: The joke that just doesn’t stop

Illinois Politics – The joke that just doesn’t stop coming!

And remember folks, this is the exact same Democratic Machine that Rahm Emanuel and Obama are from. (And Duncan, and on and on…) People like Daley and Durbin just have not gotten caught yet. (Actually I heard on the radio the other day that the FBI is looking into Mayor Daley’s contract dealings with work done at O’Hara Airport.)

    Anyway here you go:

(WGN-AM) - Another day, another connection to former Governor Rod Blagojevich and Senator Roland Burris. This time it involves reports that Burris's son was hired the Blagojevich administration five months ago.

The 42 year old, Roland Burris II was hired by the Blagojevich administration as senior counsel for the state's housing authority about six weeks after the IRS slapped a $34,000 tax lien on him and three weeks after a mortgage company field a foreclosure suit on his South Side home.

According to the Sun-Times the job paid more that $75,000 a year. A spokeswoman for the Illinois Housing Development Authority says there was nothing improper about Burris' employment by the agency.

No jail time for ex-Chicago alderman

February 26, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Former Chicago alderman Ed Vrdolyak will not be going to prison. He walked out of the Dirksen Federal Building on Thursday afternoon after a judge sentenced him to five years' probation for arranging a payoff in a real estate deal.
The prosecutors had asked the judge to sentence Vrdolyak to 41 months in prison.

Judge Milton Schrader said he had been bombarded by dozens of letters in support of the man known as "Fast Eddie."

Ed Vrdolyak is not the man that millions of Chicagoans have come to know over the decades through his public persona. At least that was the theme throughout nearly five hours of sentencing on Thursday that culminated with the judge verbally shredding the government's case.

@ ChiWatcher:Welcome to alipac my friend and I'm glad you like my screen name. Much like the term 'Forget about it' in the movie Donnie Brasco many of the friends of my youth used 'Ratbastard' as both loving and hateful comments.

I'm sure you'll find a great many usefull quotes on this site and hope you use em all. Hell I do all the time.

By the wayI lived in the Calumet City, Hammond area from 76 to 85. So I am very aware of the corruption in both cities.
