OIL CITY, Pa. -- A man described by police as a transient worker from Mexico is jailed on charges he tried to lure a 14-year-old girl into his hotel room in northwestern Pennsylvania.
Justo Venegas, 49, is charged with attempted luring and attempted unlawful restraint in the incident Saturday at the Oil City Arlington Hotel.
Police said Venegas asked the girl's name then shook her hand in the hotel hallway and wouldn't let go. Police said the girl screamed and cried and managed to get away as Venegas pulled her toward his room.
Online court records do not list an attorney for Venegas, who is originally from the Mexico City area. Police said he was working for a contractor hired by the Oil City Area School District.
Venegas is currently being held in the Venango County Jail on $30,000 bond.
