A 38-year-old Immokalee man was arrested Tuesday after investigators say he raped a young girl, and said if she told anyone he would make sure her mother, father and sisters would die.

Jeremias Valazquez-Gomez, 5116 Deer Run Road, Immokalee, was charged with sexual battery on a victim under 12 years old.

According to a highly-redacted arrest report, Valazquez-Gomez took the girl, whose name was not released due to the sexual nature of the case, to the dentist on Tuesday, and then took her to his home.

He told the girl to sit on the couch and watch television, and then told her to come with him to the bedroom. He then told her to sit on the bed, and tried to pull down her shorts, reports said.

The girl told Valazquez-Gomez "no," and then asked him for a glass of water.

She went back to the living room and sat on the couch. He brought her a glass of water, and sat with her on the couch.

Valazquez-Gomez then pulled down the girl’s shorts and raped her, authorities said. Reports say the girl screamed for help, but Valazquez-Gomez covered her mouth and nose so that she could not breath.

The girl told authorities that Valazquez-Gomez said that if she told anyone what happened he would make sure her mother, father and sisters would die, according to reports.

Valazquez-Gomez took the girl home around noon, where she informed an unidentified person about the rape. She was taken to the Children’s Advocacy Center later that afternoon for a physical exam and a sexual assault kit.

Deputies arrested Valazquez-Gomez at his home Tuesday night. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed an immigration hold on him.
