Palm Beach County: Judge denies bond for man charged with 858 counts
July 10, 2008
A judge on Wednesday denied a bond request by Dennis Elliott, a Jamaican national charged with 858 counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a girl. The charges date to 2002 when the child was 9 years old.

Elliott, 38, is a flight risk who has a detainer placed on him by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Assistant State Attorney Claudel Trajan told Circuit Judge Sandra McSorley. Additionally, Trajan said, Elliott has a 1997 conviction for aggravated battery and aggravated assault. He's facing up to 130 years in prison on the current charges.

Working with police, the girl called Elliott and confronted him, a police report said. She told him she wanted him to stop and he repeatedly apologized. The girl is "extremely scared of him," Detective Lori Colombino testified Wednesday.
