Vicente Fox Quesada (Spanish pronunciation: [biˈsente foks keˈsaða]; born July 2, 1942) is a Mexican politician who served as President of Mexico from 2000 to 2006 and currently serves as co-President of the Centrist Democrat International, an international organization of Christian democratic political parties.
Where did Fox get such genes? Amusingly, under some definitions of "Hispanic," Mexico's new leader couldn't even qualify for affirmative action in the U.S. "Fox" isn't a Spanish surname. His grandfather brought it to Mexico from Ireland. Then the old Irishman's son, Vicente Fox's father, achieved that widespread ambition of Mexican men: he married a woman born in Europe.
At six foot five, President Fox easily stood out in most crowds, and is believed to be one of the tallest presidents in Mexican history. After his inauguration, President Fox usually only wore suits for formal occasions, opting to wear his signature boots and jeans throughout his many visits around Mexico.
