The states most affected by the housing recession, including California, Nevada and Florida, were among those with the largest increases in bankruptcies.

I just heard that the Texas housing slump has started. The last quarter of housing reports came back with bad results.

And, it's no coincidence that California and Nevada are two of the highest states in terms of IAs in their populations. Florida is a bit farther down the list, but not very far...

You could also take the opposite approach and look at the states like North Dakota, New Hampshire, Montana, etc (that have relatively low proportions of IAs) and see what their finances are like for comparison as well...

Almost fifteen years ago we had a guy come on our job who had fled his previous career as a homebuilder in California. First, his project ran out of available water and then he related how the industry was being flooded with illegal workers, anyway. So I knew that as California always leads the nation, we would eventually have that happen, too.

Watching the CNBC business news they have frequently had reports about the big, nationwide homebuilders. They showed plenty of apparently immigrant workers on the sites, especially in the Southern states. These homebuilders have been given dangerously favorable monetary policies by our government, have constucted their characterless subdivisions everywhere, flooded the US with illegals, and helped create a nationwide financial crisis. Apparently the CEO's get to walk away scot free. Somebody turn them in, please. I'm busy working away on the commercial sector.
