CAMPO – Border Patrol agents arrested two people Thursday and seized more than $1 million worth of marijuana after two vehicles illegally entered the United States from Mexico, officials said Friday.
Agents spotted a GMC Yukon and Ford Bronco speeding away from the border east of Campo around 9 a.m. Thursday and suspected the vehicles had illegally entered the country. As agents pursued the vehicles, the drivers turned in opposite directions on state Route 94.

One driver was stopped at the intersection of SR-94 and state Route 188 in Tecate and the other was caught after he stopped and ran from his vehicle, a Border Patrol news release said.

Agents said 717 pounds of marijuana was found in the Ford Bronco and 832 pounds were found in the Yukon.
