Nov. 13, 2013 – HSI, CBIG partners seize nearly 1,500 kilograms of cocaine
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents, working jointly with Caribbean Border Interagency Group (CBIG) partners, disrupted a maritime illegal drug shipment Friday seizing 54 bales of cocaine with an approximate weight of 1,500 kilograms and a street value of $38 million. Nov. 12, 2013 – NY man pleads guilty in huge stolen identity refund fraud case
A New York man pleaded guilty Tuesday to his role as the leader of one of the nation's largest and longest running stolen identity tax refund fraud schemes ever identified. The guilty plea resulted from an investigation by the District of New Jersey Financial Crimes Task Force, which is composed of investigators from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the IRS and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the U.S. Secret Service and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Nov. 13, 2013 – Former NFL player Sam Hurd sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for role in cocaine and marijuana distribution conspiracy
Former professional football player Samuel George Hurd III, 28, was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis to 15 years in federal prison for his role in a cocaine and marijuana distribution conspiracy. Hurd previously played in the National Football League. Full Story
