Delphi executive flees from armed man in Juárez

A Delphi plant executive managed to flee from an armed man in Juárez who tried to intercept her after she crossed the border from El Paso on her way to work, company officials said Monday.
The encounter occurred Thursday shortly after the Delphi executive crossed the Bridge of Americas.

Chihuahua state police are investigating the incident, said a Delphi spokesperson, who because of safety reasons, asked not to be identified. Police also agreed not to disclose the executive's name.

The spokesperson said the executive described her attacker as a lone man and narrated the following:

"He pulled his truck in front of her vehicle, forcing her to stop, and got out with a gun pointed at her. He walked up to her and knocked on the window of her vehicle with the gun.

"But, instead of rolling down the window or opening her door, she stepped on the accelerator, drove off, and kept going until she reached the Delphi Technical Center in Juárez, where the security guards came to her rescue."

The Delphi spokesperson said the employee is alright, and does not know whether the man planned to kidnap, rob or steal her vehicle.

Chihuahua state police said carjackings, kidnappings for ransom and robberies are on the rise in Juárez, where drug violence has claimed the lives of more than 1,600 people since 2008.

"Everything at Delphi in Juárez is operating normally," the spokesperson said.

Last week, officials of AMAC, the Maquiladora Association, also received news of the

kidnapping of Lear plant manager Rodolfo Vazquez in Juárez, whose kidnappers allegedly demanded a $1.5 million-dollar ransom to set him free. Lear officials in Southfield, Mich., did not return phone messages concerning Vazquez.

In December, several armed men held up about 50 employees at one of the Lear plants in Juárez, and made off with one of the ATM's they hauled off from the cafeteria.

Well, I guess that's what you get for taking American jobs to a third world nation. Run for your lives, you traitors!! I feel no pity for you after all the devastation you've heaped on American middle class families for the sake of corporate greed. Run,you worthless scumbags, run!!

After all those years of telling us "you get what you pay for"!! Now you got what YOU paid for! You wanted to pay third world wages...well the only way to do that was in a third world nation and you gotta take the bad with the so-called good. Choke on it!
