5 people in Border Patrol custody after chase

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8 ) - Five people are in custody Tuesday after a short chase ended in the South County.
The chase started while Border Patrol agents were trailing a vehicle they believed was involved in a human smuggling operation.
Shortly after the suspects' vehicle took off, the driver jumped out, leaving the SUV to crash into a retaining wall in the 2700 block of Barbour Drive.
One person inside the vehicle was injured and transported to the hospital for treatment.
Border Patrol took five people into custody. The driver of the vehicle is facing several charges, including human smuggling.
