What they're not telling you in this story is that the girl's family is Guatemalan I believe. When they interviewed the father when the girl was returned home, he spoke no English and his comments were translated. The male who abducted her, headed for the border. He was caught very close to the border. His status and the family's status was never mentioned in any of the news coverages, especially since the originating source was Phoenix media and police where status doesn't exist. She was abducted in Chandler, a Phoenix suburb and driven to Yuma which is several hours to the south.

Girl taken from bus stop at knife point found safe

YUMA, Ariz. A 14-year-old girl taken from her school bus stop at knifepoint is back home this evening.

It was an emotional homecoming for Yeni Guerrero.

She was greeted and given a big hug by her father outside her Chandler residence.

It's been a long, traumatic day for the teenager.

She was waiting at a bus stop this morning with other kids when an acquaintance, 21-year-old Nelson Flores pulled up in a car and allegedly took her at knife point.

Flores allegedly put a knife to Yeni's throat and forced her into his car. Another child called police on her cell phone.

Police issued an Amber Alert. Within a few hours, motorists along Interstate Eight spotted a gold Honda Accord that Flores was driving toward Yuma.

Flores is now in police custody in Yuma.

He'll be booked on kidnapping, aggravated assault and possibly other criminal charges connected to the abduction.
