SAN DIEGO —
The last of three Mexican brothers involved with a San Diego County methamphetamine ring had pleaded guilty to drug charges.

Andres Chavez-Chavez, a Mexican national who was living illegally in the United States, pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine. He faces up to life in prison at sentencing on Sept. 17.

U.S. District Attorney Karen Hewitt says Chavez-Chavez ran an organization that distributed at least 220 pounds of methamphetamine from spring 2006 to May 2007. According to authorities, he conspired with his brothers, Salvador and David, to import the drug from Mexico and distribute it in San Diego County.

The three were arrested in May 2007. Salvador and David Chavez-Chavez earlier pleaded guilty to drug charges.
