Breaking news--ATF 'prior knowledge' of cash in pipeline for Gunwalker plot

In a breaking news story reported today it was revealed that the ATF--the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives--had prior knowledge that cash was in the pipeline, multi-thousands of dollars from taxpayers, for the Gunwalker scheme known as 'Operation Fast and Furious.'

New information has just been disclosed from ATF whistleblowers and other sources inside the government indicating that in 2009 ATF agents on the ground who were involved in the Gunwalker scheme were aware that money from the federal government would be made available to straw purchasers, unnamed, faceless pawns that the federal government used to buy and smuggle weapons into Mexico. These persons used the government money supplied by taxpayers to buy large quantities of weapons from gun stores in Arizona, weapons that would be walked across the border where they would be placed into the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

Two key figures are central to the discovery of this new information: Hope MacAllister of the Phoenix Field Division of the ATF, and Andre Howard, owner of the Lone Wolf Trading Company in Glendale, Arizona, one of the many local gun store owners who was cooperating with the ATF in allowing straw purchases of weapons at their businesses.

A secret tape recently made public shows MacAllister admitting to Howard that there were 3 guns, not 2 as the FBI maintains, recovered at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. The third gun never made it to the lab for analysis and has disappeared. It was this gun that ATF whistleblowers--agents who went public with the corruption inside the agency--contend came from the Gunwalker scheme, thus making the federal government responsible for the death of one of its own employees who was merely doing his job.

In a Sispy Street Irregulars exclusive today, it is reported that MacAllister further disclosed to Howard that vast sums of money would be made available to straw purchasers and that he should prepare by making available a large quantity of the types of firearms they would be buying http://sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot. ... -knew.html :

In late September 2009, ATF Phoenix Group VII supervisor Hope MacAllister walked into the Lone Wolf Trading Company. She had a message for the owner Andre Howard, according to sources familiar with the investigation into Fast & Furious in both DC and Arizona, and the message was this: "The amount of weapons you sell is about to dramatically increase." Howard, the sources say, was cautioned that "he might not have enough stock" to supply the straw buyers that MacAllister somehow knew were on the way and that "he should stock up on what they wanted."

MacAllister seemed to know "exactly how many weapons (the straw buyers) wanted, how much cash they had and when they would be coming in," said one of the sources.

Less than a week later, the straw buyers -- all of modest means -- began flocking to Andre Howard's shop. Operation Fast and Furious was off to the races.

Thus, the proof of 'prior knowledge.' Agents on the ground knew full well that federal tax dollars would be pouring in to the area, allowing 'unnamed persons of modest means' to buy large quantities of firearms, which would then be transported across the border.

Two explanations for this 'prior knowledge' are possible--one innocent and one ominous. The innocent explanation is that the straw purchasers, who had contact with Mexican drug cartels, were under wiretap by the DEA, ATF, or another federal agency. If this scenario is true, then the agency would know that the cartels had placed large orders of U.S. weapons in order to take advantage of the money that would be pouring in from the government to make such purchases.

In this scenario, the government could maintain that it made the money available to the straw purchasers to see how far up the line the weapons in Mexico would go, perhaps all the way to a king fish--a cartel 'big boss.'

The ominous explanation is that ATF was being used by the Obama Administration in a scheme to let the guns walk into Mexico so that the government could 'prove' its debunked claim that '90% of the guns used by the cartels come from the United States,' and thus drastic new gun control measures are needed, in addition to gun bans.

The latter explanation is the one that is consistent with what ATF insiders, and other sources inside the federal government, have claimed from the beginning--that Gunwalker was conceived not as a 'sting' but as a plot to bolster the Administration's desire to restrict the gun rights of American citizens.

Special note: Mike Vanderboegh, the source of today's information, and David Codrea, National Gun Rights Examiner--the two investigative reporters who first broke the Gunwalker story back in December of 2010--will be our special guests on 'A Voice for Freedom' Radio Show on WFHT-AM 1390 Orlando-Avon Park, Florida tomorrow morning at 11 AM Eastern.
