Lou Dobbs Tonight
Thursday, December 20, 2007

Lou’s new book INDEPENDENTS DAY is now on sale in bookstores
and on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com. In Independents Day,
Lou issues a rallying cry to American citizens eager for a
change, focusing particularly on the critical issues and
challenges of the 2008 election.

Tonight: Congressman Tom Tancredo dropped out of the Republican
presidential race today. Tancredo said that he was extremely
proud to have brought illegal immigration to the forefront of
the national debate and threw his support to former
Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. We’ll have all the details and
all the news from Washington and the campaign trail.

Today International Brotherhood of Teamsters workers at JFK
International Airport are protesting against their jobs being
exported to China and South Korea. Mechanics in Beijing are
already servicing Boeing 747s and 777s for United—and of the
2,179 mechanics, only 5 of them are FAA certified to repair the
planes. We’ll have the story.

First it was called a housing slump, then a housing recession,
then a housing crash. A closer look tonight at the
ever-more-grim housing numbers, the weak response from
Washington for homeowners in trouble, and how the whole mess
could have been avoided.

And Governor Matt Blunt of Missouri is working hard to crack
down on illegal immigration in his state. His latest set of
proposals include banning sanctuary cities in Missouri,
imposing sanctions against contractors who hire illegal aliens
and requiring public employers to verify a worker's legal
status. Governor Matt Blunt joins us tonight.
