New Orleans — Last week during routine port patrols, U.S. Customs and Border Protection enforcement officers from the port of New Orleans apprehended two illegal aliens working in the port near the Governor Nicholls Street wharf.

The individuals were observed conducting work near a vessel that was in port. A check of their identification revealed that both were illegally living and working in the United States.

The first subject, a citizen of Honduras, was a fugitive who was previously ordered removed by an immigration judge and failed to comply with the judge’s order. The second subject, a citizen of Costa Rica, was processed for removal by CBP and is pending a hearing before an immigration judge. Both subjects were turned over to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and are currently being detained.
