Homeschooling Surges, As Teachers Snub American Students to Teach Illegal Migrants

The San Diego Unified School District Spokeswoman has announced that teachers were giving up their vacation time to volunteer to teach illegal immigrant children. These children exhibit higher Covid-19 rates than their students stuck at home doing virtual learning.
These teachers are on “vacation” because they have refused to go back to on-site teaching. San Diego Teachers Union pushed back on reopening their physical schools because of alleged risks of Coronavirus. San Diego currently reports a 0.002% infection rate among their residents, but the teachers still believe it is “too dangerous” to go back to physical schooling.

Astonishingly, these very same teachers who could not gather the endurance to teach American students in person, somehow summoned the courage to travel to the San Diego Convention Center to teach illegal immigrant children in person. Even though the infection rate of these children is 437 times higher than the case rate threshold necessary to reopen schools in California.
According to Fox News, the spokeswoman for the school district said: “Some of our educators have volunteered to give up their vacation time – this week is our spring break – to help hundreds of teenage girls who are sheltering in our city, away from their families and in some cases thousands of miles from home…”
She added, “Our teachers have volunteered to help — we are not paying them in any way — because caring for children is central to who they are as human beings. The power of their example should inspire us all, and hopefully many others will be inspired to show these girls that we are a compassionate community.”
Apparently, this compassion does not extend to their American students, even after many of them are exhibiting higher rates of depression and suicidal thoughts. Maybe because of “white privilege”? Who knows at this point.

This dismissive treatment of American students (and favorable treatment of illegal migrants) is fueling populist sentiments among American citizens. The obvious, in-your-face double standard is prompting Americans to start leaving the public school system. They’re replacing it with traditional homeschooling, which might be good news overall since it’s one of the only ways to combat leftist indoctrination.
According to Reason Magazine, homeschoolers have tripled in number during the pandemic. They report: “Before the pandemic, the [Census] Bureau noted, about 3.3 percent of students were homeschooled. As COVID-19 spread in the spring of 2020 and schools fumbled their efforts to offer lessons beyond closed classrooms, that number rose to 5.4 percent of students. Many families must have liked what they tried—or really disliked what their old schools were doing—because the number of homeschooled kids doubled again once summer break was over. By fall, 11.1% of households with school-age children reported homeschooling (Sept. 30-Oct. 12),” the Bureau added.

In less than a year the US has gone from 3.3% of students being homeschooled to 11.1%. The curriculum is 100% chosen by the parents meaning no Critical Race Theory enforced on the children, and no Cultural Marxism. Just old-fashioned education. Some parents are even choosing teaching pods where they pool with other parents to have a small group of kids being taught by a tutor.
Perhaps the teacher’s unions are their own worst enemy, and if they keep ditching their students for illegal migrants the exodus from the schooling system will only intensify.
