Without birthright citizenship anchor babies will have no worse of a life than their fellow countrymen who were born in Mexico or other country of origin. In fact if they stay in the US for very long, they will likely have a better life. How is that "punishing the children"?

If anybody is being punished it is the children of US citizens/legal residents.

TimBinh--this is so true and it is so unfair to our American Children for them to be placed in this situation. These are situations from which are American Children are legally protected by our laws. Yet Traitor Officials have made it abundantly clear that our American Children no longer rate, are no longer preferred, are no longer the focal point for loyalty or protection by the US Government.

Our children are at risk during the most formative years of their development because of an illegal policy being executed by this President and this Cabinet.

AND this, ALIPAC FRIENDS, is where WE COME IN. We just need to make MORE NOISE than La Raza and their ILK. We need to make this our PRIMARY GOAL for 2006 and start a MASSIVE CAMPAIGN lobbying our representatives to put a screeching halt to the Anchor Baby rule.

I don't think illegal aliens have citizenship rights under our US Constitution under any Amendment and certainly not the 14th Amendment because they are not under our jurisdiction; they are in fact here in violation of US law and are thus criminals; and subject to deportation the second they enter the country. Legislation clarifying this should be enough without an amendment to the constitution. They could pass the law and then amend the 14th amendment to say, "excluding children born to non-citizens".

That was my interpretation as well. It would be SO MUCH EASIER if they COULD just pass legislation CLARIFYING the 14th amendment than it would be to pass ANOTHER amendment. Let's start PUSHING FOR THAT.
