Students in Mexico Protest Against Cartel Violence

Students in Mexico Protest Against Cartel Violence

    Last Update: 1:23 pm

MEXICO CITY - Students in Mexico say they've had enough of the drug violence sweeping their country.

Some 1,500 students and activists marched down Mexico City streets on Thursday to protest against violence and what they described as the militarization of the country.

The demonstrators lit thousands of candles in memory of the victims of the drug war violence.

Some students used the event to condemn what they see as ill-considered policies in the battle against organized crime.

    Awsum!

I'd love to see more of this and less of the types of protests
we see from the Mexicans here. It's time for you guys to start standing
up against your failed economy, corrupt government and legal system
    as well.

For sure! Taking the young people and women to find some courage in Mexico...
