* Tonight, our southern states are asking for more help
in dealing with a dramatic rise in the violence along our
border with Mexico. Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon is asking the
Obama transition team for more federal agents on the border and
more money to law-enforcement operations. We will have a full
report on the surge in violence and what, if any, help these
states can expect from the federal government.


*Plus, The mortgage crisis is leaving homeowners and
small communities struggling and with no help. There has been
no assistance from the Federal government for homeowners.
States don’t have the money to help and local communities are
trying to find ways to weather the downturn. Tonight, we will
look at the hardest hit communities in the country and examine
their responses.
