Congressman Bob Filner Introduces the Keep Families Together Act
    Written by Imperial Valley News

    Monday, 16 February 2009

Washington, DC - Congressman Bob Filner has introduced the Keeping Families Together Act, H.R. 938. The bill would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act in three main ways:

    1) reinstate judicial review to the immigration process, 2) end the practice of automatically detaining productive members of our society for minor crimes they committed years ago and for which they have already served with their sentence, and 3) allow immigrants previously deported to appeal that decision.

“The existing law tears apart stable, long-term families headed by legal immigrants because of minor crimes committed years ago - crimes for which the offender has already served their sentence!â€

Legal immigrants should not be bringing illegal immigrants into the country having a legal relative is not an excuse. Bringing illegal aliens in when you are a legal immigrant or United States citizen is shameful.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
