Thread: State Legislators for Legal Immigration- 14th Amend

State lawmakers, led by State Legislators For Legal Immigration (SLLI) founder Daryl Metcalfe, met in Washington D.C. Jan. 5 to unveil model legislation regarding the 14th Amendment. Joined by constitutional scholars, they held a press conference on the same day as the swearing-in of the 112th Congress.

Metcalfe, a Pennsylvania State Representative, encouraged members of Congress that one of their first actions should be “to uphold their oaths of office to protect the states from illegal alien invasion.â€

The link above takes you to a page which has a link to an article, Automatic Citizenship, written by Joe Wollverton, II. His article provides more substantiation for the claim that the authors of the 14th Amendment did not intend and in one instance specifically said the this Amendment does not apply to foreigners or aliens.

Toward the end of the article appears words to the effect, Illegal aliens cannot convey citizenship to their children, because citizenship was never theirs to convey.
