POSTED: December 7, 2009

Minot police arrested three men early Sunday morning who were determined to be in the United States illegally.

According to the police report, about 4 a.m. police stopped a vehicle for suspicion of impaired driving. The driver of the vehicle, who identified himself as Oscar Cumplido-Martinez, had a Mexican driver's license as his only form of identification. The other two occupants in the vehicle provided Mexican passports that identified them as Jose Ortiz-Carbajal and Raul Ortiz-Carbajal.

The three people in the vehicle spoke very little English and the U.S. Border Patrol was called to assist with the language barrier.

Based on an investigation by the Border Patrol, it was determined all three occupants in the vehicle were in the United States illegally. The Border Patrol took custody of brothers Jose Ortiz-Carbajal, 24, and Raul Ortiz-Carbajal, 31. Oscar Cumplido-Martinez, 26, is being held in the Ward County Jail on a DUI charge and a hold through Border Patrol. The three men have Minot addresses.
