RAINBOW – A Mexican citizen driving a pickup truck on Interstate 15 was stopped by Border Patrol agents, who found $344,863 in cash in a secret compartment, according to authorities.
The driver was arrested and the money was seized.

An agent heading south on the freeway spotted the truck about 5 p.m. Tuesday when the driver exited at Rainbow Valley Boulevard and then headed north. The agent stopped the vehicle near the Border Patrol checkpoint by the San Diego County line.

A dog alerted authorities to the cash, which was separated into 28 bundles wrapped in cellophane hidden inside a secret compartment below the vehicle's center console.
